at West Bank during orientation day

My working experience on campus

Today, Boynton* is almost empty since it's Staff Day(holidayyyyyyyy!). They have it once a year, informed by my senior-Kak Lin.. Oh no wonder there's not much of daily tasks us gotta do.. Today marked my the 9th day of me working at Boynton. So far I like my 4hours of evening shift~! :)

Working as custodian, I have the responsibilities to keep Boynton's second floor clean and tidy. My specific places of working are the women's clinic and the lab where they do blood tests etc. Here, I would usually have to wipe the sink, the toilets, and sometimes do the thrashing which include women's urine (ewww) but what's the big deal anyway. I'm getting used to it. I am required to wear gloves before doing any custodial works.

My working hours start at 3pm until 7pm. I usually tried getting to work as early as possible to gain credit to myself. In the US, it's always about being a serious and dedicated worker. It's certainly something to be followed by various level of Malaysian workers.

My job is divided to two parts- the daily tasks and floor task.
The daily tasks include :
-Cleaning the lunch room

-Vacuuming the medical records room

-Cleaning the elevators ( almost every part of them have to be disinfected hmphhhhhh)

-Collecting linen (these linen bags contain doctor and patience 's clothes which sometimes can be contaminated with blood n unknown liquid)

-Front entry cleaning that includes wiping the glass, moping the floor, and vacuuming the carpet.

-and some other tasks that I'm not really familiar with yet.

For these daily tasks..it's not like I have to do all them in a day. I can choose to do one or two of them together with a partner. So yeah, it lessen my workload and thank God for that. Or else,I'm not sure how I'm gonna do finish everything off within the time period before I start my floor job at 5pm. XD

Second part of my job would be the floor job. Well, I have briefly describe it before. The real things are more than that. I have to wipe some sinks (in the restrooms and in the doctors' room), clean the toilet bowl, making sure that the supplies(such as tissues,or hand soap etc) in every room are well maintained,I've also have to rearrange the magazines on the tables at waiting lounge, then do some thrashing for each room, vacuuming important places, do dust mopping and last but not least the mopping itself. Hah! Tiresomeeeeeee but fun :)

The fact is Boynton has 5floors to be taken care of by us custodians. Some of my friends usually clean up the fifth floor where many chocolates and hot chocolate are to be found freeeeee! Haha, it simply because the fifth floor workers are so nice that they insist us to "please help yourself". Hak hak.
So, you know lah kan Malaysian...... so good at taking such opportunities...!! Hhahah.. everyday so many stock they take :P Whenever we have finished our task, we will nap at the break room. Sometimes people bring food they share with everybody and I effin love thattt.. Oh my God,! I'm so a big fan of food hahhhh? ayoyoy..

I'm currently can't wait for my first paycheck in my life~! What should I buy for my family ya?

>>Shasha at 4.11am 8th Jan 2010 (my lil sister birthday is today.. Happy Birthdayyy Oya!! :) )
